But here’s the thing – has anybody seen all the information flying about? Buried under all the blog posts – information overload that may as well be the very boogeyman HRF always talked about – is a new phenomenon of workouts being ‘convenient’. We are talking about workouts to us, in your comfort zones. Workouts to help you get there, to your goal – not any old goal, but the goal that you personally want to reach. So why would you want to leave your bedroom to go to a crowded and hot room full of screens and machinery? Here’s why we think that – when done right – you don’t have to leave your bedroom to get in shape. That’s right – the comfort of your own room is apparently where you want to work out and stretch, stretch, stretch.
The Struggle is Real: Finding Time and Motivation
We all have full schedules. Work, family, social events — who has time for exercise? Plus, none of us enjoy the gym really enjoy it: the intimidation factor, the time spent travelling there, the membership.
Home Workouts to the Rescue!
And here’s the best news: you do not need an expensive gym or any heavy weight machine. With simplicity if you perform these few simple routines daily, you can come to your best fitness level at home. Now let’s see how.
1: “I don’t have enough time.”
You don’t need to spend hours a day becoming fit – just 20 or 30 minutes is plenty to see great results. To put it another way, if you have time to watch two episodes of your favourite TV show, then you can definitely find time for a workout. And on top of that, home workouts mean no commute!
2: “I don’t have the right equipment.”
You’d be amazed at all the great exercises you can do without equipment; just use your body weight to do squats, push-ups, lunges, and planks. Throw in some water bottles or even a sturdy chair for variety.
3: “I don’t know where to start.”
Start small with a relatively simple routine, and work up from there as you get more practiced. Here’s a basic, easy beginner’s routine you can use to get started.
1. Wind-up (5 minutes): Run in place, do jumping jacks, or dance to your favorite song to increase your circulation.
2. Bodyweight Circuit (15 minutes):
– 15 squats
– 10 push-ups (modify by doing them on your knees if needed)
15 lunges (each leg)
20-second plank
Repeat this circuit 2-3 times, resting for 1 minute between rounds.
3. Cool Down (5 minutes): Stretch out your muscles, especially your legs, back and arms.
Keeping the Momentum:
Now, imagine how great you’ll feel at the end of seven days, when you’ve stuck with the schedule. Envision the uptick in your energy, your mood, your metabolism and musculature.
