These cheesy beef nachos are the perfect way to enjoy a delicious and satisfying meal without a lot of fuss. The air fryer makes them crispy and gooey, and they’re sure to be a hit with everyone at the table.
Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 10 minutes Total Time: 15 minutes Servings: 2-3
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ pound lean ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 6 cups tortilla chips
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup chopped tomatoes (optional)
- ¼ cup chopped red onion (optional)
- Chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
- Sour cream (optional)
- Guacamole (optional)
Instructions:
- Brown the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess grease. Stir in the taco seasoning and cook for an additional minute.
- Prep the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes. If your air fryer basket is small, you may need to cook the nachos in batches.
- Layer it Up: Spread half of the tortilla chips in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Sprinkle with half of the shredded cheese. Top with the cooked ground beef. Repeat with another layer of chips, cheese, and then the remaining ground beef.
- Air Fry the Nachos: Cook the nachos in the air fryer for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Be sure to check on them halfway through and shake the basket gently to ensure even cooking.
- Serve it Up! Carefully remove the basket from the air fryer and let the nachos cool for a minute or two before serving. Top with your favorite toppings, such as chopped tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, sour cream, and guacamole.
Tips for Beginners:
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. This will prevent the chips from getting crispy.
- If your cheese isn’t melting evenly, you can broil the nachos for a minute or two after they come out of the air fryer.
- Feel free to get creative with your toppings! Other options include sliced jalapenos, black beans, or diced avocado.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. However, they may not be as crispy as they were fresh.
